It's that most wonderful time of the year! I don't know about you, but my house is overflowing with kids and extended family and holiday baking. Being a teacher, every day at school is filled with sweet treats in the staff room and my amazing students bringing me little holiday goodies. And I love it all! But it's a tough time of year when you're trying to keep sugar under control and you still want to indulge in some holiday fun and cheer.
Don't worry, I've got you covered with my luxurious salted caramel mocha. It looks and tastes incredible and goes really well next to a roaring fire with your favourite holiday movie on the TV. Avoid the sugar rush and whip up this sweet cheat for you and your loved ones.
Ingredients for each mocha:
2 tablespoons Sweet Cheat Hot Chocolate mix
3/4 cup strong brewed coffee
1/4 cup steamed or frothed milk
1 drop caramel extract
1/2 cup whipping cream whipped with 1/2 teaspoon of Sweet Cheat Spoonable Monk Fruit (or to taste)*
Sea Salt for sprinkling
*this will make enough whipped cream for several mochas!
Place Sweet Cheat Hot Chocolate in a mug
Add 3/4 cup strong coffee and use a whisk or fork to blend the Hot Chocolate mix and coffee together.
Add 1/4 cup of steamed milk, one drop of caramel extract, and mix. Top mocha with a dollop of cream, whipped and sweetened with Sweet Cheat Spoonable Monk Fruit to taste, and sprinkle with sea salt.
Enjoy... and try not to be like me and drink it all standing up! This one is definitely best enjoyed on the couch, with your feet up, watching the snow fall outside. Happy holidays everyone!
This ridiculously easy recipe was sent to me by a Sweet Cheat customer one evening a few months ago. Life with 4 tiny toads happened and I never got a chance to actually try it. Well I finally have, and holy moly!! It’s incredible!
It’s a simple matter of whipping some heavy cream with Sweet Cheat Hot Chocolate and a splash of vanilla and cold coffee. Wow is it good!
Usually I’m able to make and photograph recipes pretty quickly and then let the toads eat the results. Well this time I had trouble. I had little thieves sneaking their fingers into the bowl before I could even get it plated!
We used this as a dip for fruit, but I’m not going to lie, eating it straight off a spoon is a totally viable option for consuming it!
Sweet Cheat Chocolate Fluff
Today it’s hotter than the surface of the sun. I know my kids are going to ask for ice cream when they come home from school. Ice cream is something I definitely let them enjoy as a treat, but in the hot months, it seems like they think everything is a great excuse for it. I know that I can tempt them with frozen hot chocolate instead.
This recipe is slushy enough to enjoy with a spoon, sweet enough to satisfy your sweet tooth, and cold enough to combat the heat! The great thing about it is that it can be made low carb or keto friendly or dairy free, or even a grown-up treat with Irish Cream if that’s what you like!
Start with Sweet Cheat Hot Chocolate mix, milk, cream and ice. This is the part where you can customize, dairy-free milk and coconut cream will lower both the carbs and remove the diary.
Put everything into a blender and pulverize.
Pour into a glass and enjoy!
Stay cool friends!
